That pretty shrub is Judd Viburnum (Viburnum X juddii). Introduced in 1920, this classic garden shrub has stood the test of time. It will certainly be a standout in your own garden!
It forms a pleasing round shape that doesn’t require a lot of pruning. Even if it’s only attribute was the dark-green, leafy silhouette it creates in your garden, it would be worth having. It makes a great hedge or foundation plant and is the backbone of many a perennial bed.
But, believe it or not, it has more to offer! In spring it is covered in very fragrant white “snow-balls” of little star-shaped flowers that give way to black, bird-pleasing berries in the fall.
