Nothing adds the perfect brightness and zing to a dish like lemon zest. But did you know the Zesting Lemons Tall Bearded Iris (Iris germanica \’Zesting Lemons’) has the same ability to add brightness and cheer to your landscape? This refreshing beauty is as sweet and tart as lemon meringue pie and will light up your garden with its gleaming yellows.
The Zesting Lemons Tall Bearded Iris is the belle of the ball mid-spring with its romantic frilly gown and energetic crown. This graceful iris has orange beards that peak out above its creamy yellow falls that transition to lemon-yellow along their margins. With white standards rimmed with yellow to match, this iris is a burst of sunshine and is as refreshing as a tall glass of lemonade.
Bright color and scent: This iris is sure to attract the attention of your local pollinators. In fact, butterflies and hummingbirds find it hard to resist the Zesting Lemons Tall Bearded Iris’s flowers.
What about when it’s not in bloom? The Zesting Lemons Tall Bearded Iris remains handsome even when its flowers fade. Its long, sword-shaped foliage is a medium green to keep your garden lively. Its strong leaves make it perfect as an herbaceous border.
This iris adds wonder and joy to a mixed perennial border or as a foundation border. It pairs well with early-season and late-season bloomers to keep your garden colorful all spring. Its charming shape makes it ideal for cottage gardens, too.
It’s rare to find a flower that is so reliable, gorgeous, and easy to grow. Well, lucky you! You found the perfect balance! The Zesting Lemons Tall Bearded Iris doesn’t require much maintenance. It does best when planted on a small mound of soil where the water can easily fall away. You will want to plant yours with the top of its rhizome showing.
The Zesting Lemons Tall Bearded Iris enjoys basking in full sun or the comfort of partial shade. It doesn’t like to keep its roots wet all the time, so well-drained soil is best. Once established, only water this plant when its soil is dry and right after its flowers wilt.
Encourage some smiles around your neighborhood with the Zesting Lemons Tall Bearded Iris. It will light up your spring year after year with its luminous yellows! Order one today!
Information About Bare Root Iris
Bare root Iris are shipped as nice fresh cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different sized roots.
When planting, make sure 1/3rd of the rhizome is exposed to sunlight with the roots buried underneath. Note, it’s best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover in the spring.
