Compact Spirea Makes a Great Low Hedge! The Spirea ‘ Tor’, Spiraea betuliflia ‘ Tor’, is a compact spirea reaching a height and width of 2-3 ft.

Its tiny white flower clusters are set against a backdrop of deep green leaves that are almost iridescent in the summer.

The bright foliage turns a deep, purplish-red in the fall.

The flowers are attractive to butterflies.

A light shearing will encourage repeat bloom.

Tor blooms on new wood so pruning in early spring or late winter is recommended.

Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils in full sun, it also tolerates a wide range of soils.

Because of its small size and great attributes, Tor makes a wonderful foundation plant.

It can also be used as a specimen or grouped for rock gardens.

This spirea looks fabulous when planted in a mass! Try using it as a low hedge for paths and walkways too.

These are hard very popular and don’t stay in stock very long.
