Garden Plant: Soquel Coast Redwood
Product Description: Soquel Coast Redwood
A \’Just-the-Right-Size’ Redwood!
Have you ever had the amazing experience of standing in the great redwood forests of Northern California? If you haven’t, we certainly hope that you get the chance to do it one day. There are very few experiences that compare to the feeling of being dwarfed by these magnificently huge trees. They are gorgeous and sturdy and make you really wonder if there is room in your yard at home for one of these beauties. Alas, since they can top out at over 300 feet tall and 30 feet across, they are a smidge too big for most of us.
But, we are excited to now be able to offer you the Soquel Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens \’Soquel’). This very special tree has all of the lovely qualities of the larger redwood, but in a smaller package better suited for modern home and commercial landscapes. Only growing two feet or more per year, Soquel will eventually reach its mature height in 45 years. Give it the room it needs, and you will absolutely cherish the opportunity to grow such a high-status, long-lived tree.
The bark is lovely, strong and the classic reddish-brown that gives the tree its name. The branches arch slightly upward at the tips in that quintessentially redwood way, too. They are evergreen and will add year-round interest wherever you plant them. They are only happy in zone 7-9 with adequate moisture, so please plant accordingly.
If you live in a place that redwoods are happy, Soquel Coast Redwood will be a fantastic addition to your home or business. Order yours soon before we run out!
