Red Berries All Winter

The Sargent Cranberrybush Viburnum, Viburnum sargentii, is very similar to American Cranberrybush, but will not grow as large.

This shrub has beautiful white blooms with a low-to-the-ground branching habit. It will form a large upright, rounded, multi-stemmed shrub.

It has a fantastic red fruit display with bright, translucent red drupes lasting well into January. In the fall, the foliage will turn an excellent red-purple color.

\’Sargent Cranberrybush’ Viburnum is very much like the \’Snowball’ Viburnum, except that the leaves are thicker in texture, and it bears fruit.

When used as a specimen or patio tree, leave plenty of room for root expansion. It can be pruned to any size.

It grows best in full sun or partial shade, in moist, well-drained soil. Sargent is very vigorous and resistant to aphids. It will fruit best in sun but will also grow and flower in partial shade.

You can use this as a specimen plant, a patio plant, a hedge, or garden backdrop.

There is always space for a viburnum in any landscape, and this one will look terrific in yours as well!
