Do you ever wish you got to live the excitement of the Roaring Twenties: flappers, jazz, the Harlem Renaissance, and speakeasies? Well, there’s no better Iris to embody the inspiration and artistic growth of the 1920s than the Roaring Twenties Tall Bearded Iris.

With deep purple falls with improvisational ruffles, You’ll feel the dynamic energy of jazz. With a flirty and highly-ruffled blush-pink standard, You’ll feel the fun it must have been to be a flapper. And with the moody and exquisite combination of pale pink, violet, and a tangerine beard, You’ll feel the sensational and deep composition of a well-written Harlem Renaissance poem. And we have to mention the violet shock of its purple ribbing on its style arms.

This stunning Iris roars in height, as well. When it blooms in mid-to-late spring, it climbs above many other Tall Bearded varieties. It becomes the go-to spot for bees and butterflies, and it will entrance you with its lovely fragrance.

Use this roaring beauty as a way to garner attention to your cottage garden or as a border. It also looks delightful when planted in a rock garden or a grouping beside hardscaping.

The Roaring Twenties Tall Bearded Iris loves showing off its frilly ruffles in full sun or partial shade. It also does best when planted in a spot that drains well with medium or low moisture. When yours arrive in fall ready to be planted, be sure to place them with their roots down and their rhizome slightly exposed at the top.

It’s time to reinvigorate the excitement of the 1920s in the 2020s. You’ll feel alive when the Roaring Twenties Tall Bearded Iris blooms in your yard next spring. Order now!

Information About Bare Root Iris

Bare root Iris are shipped as nice fresh cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different sized roots.

When planting, make sure 1/3rd of the rhizome is exposed to sunlight with the roots buried underneath. Note, it’s best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover in the spring.
