Chicago Lustre Arrowwood Viburnum, Viburnum dentatum \’Synnestvedt’, is selected for its upright, rounded, dense habit and glossy, deep green foliage that turns red-purple in fall.

The creamy white flowers bloom in June and mature into clusters of globe-shaped fruit. The fruit are deep porcelain blue to blue-purple, maturing in August and providing food for the birds.

Chicago Lustre is a medium-sized to large-sized ornamental shrub, that can grow even larger under optimum conditions. It has an upright, oval growth habit in youth, becoming arching, spreading, and suckering with age. It has a medium growth rate and prefers full sun to partial shade with moist, well-drained soils.

The foliage turns yellow and progresses through red into purple in autumn.
