\’Candy’ Coralberry (Symphoricarpos x doorenbosii \’Kolmcan’ PP20,931) will light up your winter garden like very few plants can. The candy-pink berries are quite a sight, especially in winter snow or against dark evergreen shrubs.
The bright green leaves drop off in late fall as the arching stems start to line themselves with pearl-like berries. Then the berries start to plump up and turn bright pink. (These aren’t edible, but they make GREAT cuts for your indoor flower arrangements. )
Even though they will be the stars of your winter garden, they will be just as snazzy in your spring and summer garden, too, with their green leaves and small pink flowers. They are happy in full sun or light shade and are very low maintenance.
With their size, they make a strikingly different low shrub and are eye-catching in your favorite container.
