If You’re looking for an outstanding Iris that stands out among the crowd, the Slovak Prince Tall Bearded Iris checks all the boxes.

This handsome Iris features royal purple falls that blend to blue at the center with white veining around its yellow beards. This prince wears a crown of soft lavender with incised gold margins. And while its high-contrast appearance astounds from afar, it also fascinates when examined up close. Each of its large, broad falls has deep, dramatic ruffles and a lovely gradation that plays between eggplant purple and marine blue.

And while this Iris looks like it deserves a throne, it also smells as lovely as it looks. You’re not the only one who will swear allegiance to this tall, dark, and handsome Iris–bees and butterflies take notice and enjoy its presence, as well.

If you want an Iris that gets noticed from a distance, the Slovak Prince Iris is impossible to ignore. It makes the perfect back border or as a perennial mass planting near your rock garden or in your cottage garden. They do prefer sun or partial sun and well-drained soil with medium to low moisture. For best success, plant your Iris rhizomes with roots pointed downward and buried almost to the top of the rhizome. A layer of mulch can help protect them during the winter.

All hail the Slovak Prince Tall Bearded Iris! This Iris is a regal and handsome addition to any yard in need of a bold Iris with a well-coordinated color combination. Order now!

Information About Bare Root Iris

Bare root Iris are shipped as nice fresh cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different sized roots.

When planting, make sure 1/3rd of the rhizome is exposed to sunlight with the roots buried underneath. Note, it’s best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover in the spring.
