Product Description: Herbstonne Black-Eyed Susan
The Tallest Daisy!
The Black-eyed Susan \’Herbstonne’, Rudbeckia \’Herbstonne’, is a summer blooming perennial with a unique green cone that is surrounded by yellow petals; this giant is the tallest of the Rudbeckia and will grow to impressive heights!
It does not need staking, however, you may want to stake it to make sure the flowers do not break at their peak performance.
This plant can be a real eye catcher. Plant in the back of the border with Buddleias, Joe Pye Weed, and ornamental grasses.
The 2″ to 3″ wide, showy, golden yellow daisy-like blooms show off from summer until frost; spreads rapidly to cover a large area. It prefers full sun to partial sun in well-drained soil.
This hardy perennial is excellent in borders or naturalized gardens. Rudbeckia attracts butterflies, especially Monarchs. It also provides food for birds in the winter and is mildew-resistant.
Plant in masses with ornamental grasses for a lovely landscape effect!
