Pro Plant Tips for Care
Plant your tree in full sun. Peaches grow best in at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day.
If you can, give them morning sun so the leaves can dry off quickly from overnight dew. They also appreciate good air circulation. This is especially true in the frost-prone areas that can trap low-lying stagnant air.
As well as “well-drained air”, Peach trees need well-drained soil. If you see puddles that remain for a long time after a rain event, you need to improve your drainage.
It’s as easy as bringing in additional dirt 3 feet wide by 18 inches high. Plant directly in that mound. You can also create a raised bed with a defined border.
