Garden Plant: Barbara Harrington Clematis
Product Description: Barbara Harrington Clematis
Magenta and Pink Blooms
Clematis Barbara Harrington has lovelymagenta 4″ flowers that have pointed petals with a darker border and contrasting yellow anthers. It has an exceptional free flowering habit and long bloom time: from late June through September.
Clematis Barbara Harrington looks stunning when planted with climbing roses! This clematis needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas.
Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine.
Prune this plant back hard at the end of winter to encourage new growth. ClematisBarbara Harrington is a very reliable performer once established: it takes a season on two to get it going!
